Noble signs on

Mid-season recruit John Noble has extended his contract for a further two years.

Playing for West Adelaide at the beginning of 2019, Noble had a whirlwind introduction to life as an AFL player at Collingwood.

The 22-year-old debuted in the team’s thrilling one-point win against West Coast in Round 17 and by his fourth game was running out for skipper Scott Pendlebury’s 300th match in the Qualifying Final win against Geelong in front of over 90,000 fans at the MCG.

The dashing defender averaged 18.6 possessions across his five matches in 2019, four of these were played against finals teams.

With Noble locked in until the end of 2021, Collingwood List Manager Ned Guy is looking forward to watching him progress even further over the next two years.

“John’s story is unlike many others in the league, and we look forward to seeing it continue with the Pies,” Guy said.

“To be able to come in and have an impact in some of the club’s bigger games at the back end of the year is quite remarkable. He’ll be even better prepared for 2020 with a pre-season under his belt and his experience in 2019.”
