Sam Walsh missed his first game in 2022, having played every game since his debut in 2019.
Making an early return from injury, Walsh went on to play the next 20 consecutive games before a back injury made him unavailable for Round 23.
Not missing a beat despite limited preparation, the 2019 NAB AFL Rising Star averaged 32 disposals per game in 2022 and ranked second in the competition for effective disposals per game, using his class and decision making to assist his teammates in the contest.
Walsh reached a career high in disposals, handballs, centre clearances, inside 50s and rebound 50s, producing another consistent season in line with his first three at the level.
The 22-year-old finished third in the John Nicholls Medal count, having taken home the award in 2021.
